Cannabis Sativa: A species of plant in the cannabis genus. It’s used to produce hemp fibre and as a psychotropic drug. Cannabis can be consumed in many different ways: smoking, vaporisation, within food, or as an extract. Each part of the plant is harvested differently, depending on the purpose of its use.

Industrial Hemp Variety of the cannabis Sativa plant that contains less than 0.3% THC in the dry weight material, grown for industrial purposes. Industrial hemp is the only plant used to make hemp seeds oil. It is one of the fastest growing biomass plants, and one of the earliest domesticated crops known to humans.

Cannabinoids: The collective term for the various chemicals and active constituents of cannabis. There are 85 known cannabinoids, THC and CBD are just two of them. They are responsible for the effects of cannabis on the body.

CBD: CBD or cannabidiol, is one of the most prevalent cannabinoids found in the trichomes of the female cannabis plant and hemp. It is non-psychoactive, non-toxic and doesn’t have side effects. Growers have favoured high-THC cannabis for the most part, but recently CBD-rich cannabis and hemp strains are being grown to satisfy an increasing demand. There is a wide range of companies using CBD to make a large range of products ranging from cosmetics to e-liquids.
